In 2002 the boy wonder director Steven Spielberg demonstrated his prescient genius in The Minority Report staring Tom Cruise. The movie takes place in 2037 and offers a perceived glimpse at futuristic technology. In the trailer below one sees what looks like an iPad in the form of a CNN eNewspaper. And the movie also demonstrates iris identification technology with all its possible baggage. Looks like a future market place in Juarez, Mexico more than our good old US of A. Of course Spielberg's vision even in 2002 seemed so close at hand that the movie never really offered an "awe" effect to its viewers. Nevertheless, Minority Report temporarily transported us away from reality.
