There's nothing like 'em folks:
The best phone period remains the Apple iPhone.
The iPhone 3G had a much rockier start than the previous version but five months after its release, this AT&T network-only phone remains groundbreaking in its functionality, features and fun.
From the flick and squeeze touchscreen operation that moves images and Web pages with a swipe of the hand or zooms in and out on pictures by pinching and widening the thumb and forefinger, the iPhone is still plenty dazzling. Most awesome is the way the App Store downloads applications right to the phone. There are more than 10,000 apps now available and in my book, the single best reason to get an iPhone is because the App store gives it so much power than none of the competitors can even come close. My personal favorite application right now is the Google Mobile App. It's free and so cool, you have to see it. Hold the phone to your ear and ask it anything -- the population of Iowa, the nearest movies, sports stats -- and it does a Google search and gives you an answer.
The iPhone has Wi-Fi, AT&T's 3G network, a full iPod, a camera, push e-mail and visual voice mail, which displays a list of your voice mail messages that lets you selectively listen to the ones you deem most important. Pricing starts at $199 for an 8GB version, $299 for a 16GB.That application alone is almost enough of a reason to get at iPhone.
