I did not think my mother raised a fool. I have a Master's Degree and I watch what I do on the internet. Usually I read the fine print. But, the other day I made one careless error. I saw what I thought looked like a Google home business. After all I once signed up with their Ad Sense and it's legit. This home business offered a 5 day trial after which, if one did not call and cancel their order, would get charged $84.00 for a home kit and $34.00 every month thereafter. When I called to cancel they simply directed me to a digital voice assuring me the party I wanted would return my call. They did not. Now I'm out $84.00 minus a product. I did call and cancel my debit card. I also called Life Lock of which I am a member, thank God. Life Lock told me they cannot protect me from scam but they can keep my identity from being stolen. The young man at LL also informed me that this company is on a scam alert. The name of the Co. is XM Brands. (Do Not Fall For This Scam)They received an F rating from Florida's BBB, which is the lowest rating. Many others have the same complaint concerning this company. I post this information because I think people who are as dumb as me may fall for this crap.
Update on XM Brands Aug. 24
I called the 800 number and waited on hold for 25 min. Finally got an answer and canceled my order through their web site. I let them have the money, because I canceled my debit card and did not want to give out a new one. They still did not send me a product. And they make it very difficult to cancel. My guess is they put you on hold so you will give up. Google needs to file some sort of action against these people for using their name in a deceptive way.
