INTELLIGENT LIBERALS DUMBING DOWN THE CONSTITUTION

When Republicans first took over the House in January they did so by reading the US Constitution as a sort of pledge and historical reminder of our national progeny. Liberals took offense and subtly labeled the exercise a ruse. They say its language is too archaic and therefore, too complex for we postmodern geniuses comprehension. Scott Ott assessed the issue a while back at ScrappleFace. He sculpted his piece as a response to this.

Many moons ago Moses exhorted his people to make a regular habit out of reading the 10 commandments throughout Hebrew generations. He did so reminding the people to never forget their history. You might say Moses introduced us to a "theology of history." So, for our Judeo-Christian context we possess a precedent. Yet, in reality Ott's piece confirms what astute conservatives already know. Liberals view the founding document as ancient literature. It no longer speaks to we more sophisticated postmodern intellectuals. Hey, you guys ever heard of hermeneutics? You would think in all your sophistication you might know the meaning of the art. I believe you're actually too damn dumb and lazy to figure it out, you pseudo-intellectuals you.

ADULTS IN CHARGE?

Well, we hope Michael Ramirez is right. Only time will tell. If Republicans continue with their chicken s#&@ ways-fear of the press; fear of dems; fear of the adolescent crowd in general, then I fear a continuation of the same old same old. In fact a wise man once exclaimed, "If you keep on doing things the same way you will keep on getting the same results!"

PELOSI'S DEMISE

Several days ago I ran into a legion of blogger polls asking readers for their opinion on the status of Nancy Pelosi. Given the liberal media's fantasy state of mind and the unethical blind loyalty of Dems. I felt reasonably sure the Speaker would escape adversity. Now I'm not so sure. With CIA director Leon Panetta entering the fray Pelosi may stand on shaky ground at best. Mr. Conservative, Dr. Donald May, offers his two bits on the subject and concludes:

At best, Representative Nancy Pelosi is dim-witted and had no idea what had been told to her and her staff in CIA briefings.  At worst, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is dishonest in matters of national security and serves as an involuntary useful idiot in the service of our enemies.

May's conclusion is revelatory. It seems apropos to every Dem. kerfuffle that comes down the pike. Either those who refuse to take responsibility for the present state of the union are unethical or they simply lack the gray matter to run a country. Surely the American people possess enough wisdom to comprehend the matter. Do we really want someone running our country who responds to challenges with I don't know or evil conservatives deceived me? Truthfully, I see our current state of political affairs as a microcosm of our collective, contemporary American character. We simply cannot grow up. My adolescent children hauntingly resemble politicians, particularly liberals. They know nothing, blame everyone else for their problems, slobber over dimwitted Hollywood types, and cry to daddy when they get themselves in a predicament. Today's dangerous world needs grownups who know the Taliban are more than just bad guys invading Play Station 3's all across America.

 In addition, Gary Bauer reveals a new compelling interrogation technique with this insightful comment to Dr. May's post:

“USA Today poll favorability ratings: CIA gets 63% favorable, Nancy Pelosi gets 35% favorable. My observation: Being forced to watch a Pelosi press conference is torture.”

THE OBAMA SHOW

President Obama just finished addressing Congress. Like most politicians the speech majored in platitudinous rhetoric offering questionable solutions to economic problems brought on by corrupt members of his own party. I found it interesting that Obama, like a good irresponsible adolescent, emphatically placed the blame for our deficit at the past administration's feet. One might think Obama must at some point take responsibility for this economy. I believe the sycophant press will see to it that he never takes responsibility for any failures. If he indeed fails, Obama and the press will lay the blame Bush's feet. He also, in New Dealesque form injected a bit of class warfare into the conversation by inferring excesses from Big business may be to blame for our eco. woes.  

SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE

No one has a clue about the stimulus bill and Dems have broken their promises. The country voted these back-room hustlers in. Now we all will pay the price.

In a press conference Thursday, the House Republican leadership spoke candidly about being kept out of the House-Senate conference on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid so-called “economic stimulus” bill.  They confirmed they had not yet seen the text of the bill as of 4 p.m.Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he was unsure how many Democrats would vote with Republicans again on this bill but that he thought Republicans “may get a few” Democrats to side with them.  The fact that the Demos have now broken their promise to have the public able to see the bill for 48 hours may drive more Dems into the Republican camp.

SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE

Professor Bainbridge reminds us that Democrats are not serious about reform. Shazzam! Who would of thunk it:

Back in the old days (pre-1994), the House of Representatives was dominated by the “old bulls”—long-serving committee chairmen who held almost unchallenged power over their areas of jurisdiction. This had horrible policy consequences. Think of John Dingell using his chairmanship of the House Energy and Commerce committee to protect Detroit for so many years, which led to all sorts of policy debacles and, paradoxically, ultimately left Detroit less able to compete. Collin Peterson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee (which oversees the CFTC), is determined to block any effort to merge the SEC and CFTC, as have generations of Democratic and Republican House Ag Committee chairs.
When Newt Gingrich led the GOP takeover of the House in 1994, he imposed term limits on committee chairmen. No longer would individual congressmen be able to build Dingell-like empires that held sway over vast areas and blocked reforms for decades.
Now, however, Nancy Pelosi is proposing to repeal those term limits.

REPUBLICANS SAVE THE DEM'S SORRY REAR

...and the Dems know it. They made an unpopular financial bailout proposal, could have passed it without the Republicans, yet called on Republicans to pitch in so the Dems would not look bad. John Hinderaker at Power Line offers the details and concludes with this compelling thought:

If voters understood the events of the last week, they would probably return control of the House, and perhaps the Senate, to the Republicans. The mainstream media will make sure that doesn't happen.

DEMS GET CAUGHT HOLDING THE FINANCIAL CRISES BAG

The blame game for Wall Street's infamous crises continues. But, Amy Proctor posts incriminating video evidence from 2004 Congressional hearings concerning the vulnerability of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Seems Republicans warned of impending disaster while Dems dismissed the warnings denying that a problem existed. Go here to watch the video and read Amy's comments.

PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES...

Nancy Pelosi called Bush a total failure today. She obviously intended to move the focus away from her own miserable failures by implying that Bush's failures diverted Congress' from its most crucial agendas. Gramm was right. We are a nation of whiners and the whining begins with the Speaker of the House and descends right on down to the public. I discovered the key to winning elections. The one who whines the loudest takes home the bacon.

DEMONS OF DESTRUCTION

Every time I get on the Drudge Report I read another story of how the Dems plan to track down a witch. They act like demon possessed tyrants, bereft of ideas, seeking to fill the void by their faux saintly appearance. Low ratings seem to do little in persuading the Dems and to a lesser extent, their Republican partners in crime, of the fuel price thorn in our side, and other malicious issues facing the nation. Beam me up Scottie. I'm ready to take a trip to Tramalfadore.
