Washington Redskins' coach Joe Gibbs retired today following his second stint with the team. He sited family needs, his grandson Taylor suffers from leukemia, as the reason. Both family issues and the death of Sean Taylor made this a most difficult year for Gibbs. Even though we Cowboy fans find Redskins a bit repulsive, we love Joe Gibbs. He represents all that's good and decent. Gibbs, an evangelical Christian, publicly proclaims his faith. Recently he mentioned on his post-game show that Sean Taylor discovered Christ before he died. And because of his faith many other players came to Christ as well. Gibbs, an NFL Hall of Famer, coached the Redskins for 12 years through 1992. He returned from retirement in 2004. During his first stint Gibbs won four NFC Championship titles, and three Super Bowls. Hat's off to a great coach and even greater man.
