Journalist and blogger Michael Yon, posts some pretty objective news concerning Iraq. A high school buddy's death compelled Yon to get involved. Yon studied cults and seems to comprehend the impetus for baneful actions in various religions. Furthermore, he sheds some light on the disposition of the liberal press suggesting:
When my writings about Mosul started to attract a huge readership, the MSM press took notice, though not always with Tony C’s collegial tone. Many “professional journalists” sneered at my work. The most common criticism was that I lacked “objectivity” because I called enemy fighters “terrorists” when they used car bombs to blow up civilians, or because I openly admitted that as an American, I hoped “our side” would win. I seemed to get particularly bad marks for describing the outcomes of combat missions with terms like: “killed the enemy,” “shot the terrorist,” or “captured the suspects.” But in the context of the war as I was seeing it, the terminology was accurate.
Now that Fox News.com referred to Yon he may lose more credibility with the mainstream or "drive by" media as Rush Limbaugh calls them. Those of us who believe in this war and our President, however, really don't care. Our intuition assures us of the war's just cause. Read Yon's provocative article here. It's a bit long, but well worth the effort.
MICHAEL YON UPDATE
Captain's Quarters informs us that CENTCOM may kick Michael Yon out of iraq. A perplexing development indeed, coming from a seemingly objective journalist. Contextually, objectivity favors the military.
