MORE POSITIVE NEWS CONCERNING THE SURGE
Baghdad citizen and blogger Mohammed, comments on the good news coming out of Iraq. He prefaces his commentary with this telling note:
Here we are not in a rush to judge the operation unlike some media or politicians who seek anything they can use to serve their agendas. We, Baghdadis, only want this operation to succeed and we still have some patience to show.
After mentioning some of the military stats Mohammed tells us the thing that excites him the most:
The best part of the results remains the return of displaced families to their homes; the latest count for this shows that more than 600 families have returned so far.
While the return went with little problems for most families some forty families are complaining about receiving new threats from terrorists immediately after they returned to al-Adl district.
Interesting, the Baghdadis long for success while the American left works around the clock to insure otherwise. Then our liberal Dems posture a defensive attitude when challenged on their patriotism. Conservatives, like Vice President Cheney, make sure they tip toe around the issue. Historically the American colonists associated the term "Patriot" with those of the original 13 British colonies who rebelled against British control. Their American counterparts were labeled "Loyalists." Patriot evolved to mean those who defend their country in the face of opposition. In this context contemporary left wing groups do not, in my opinion, fit the definition of a patriot. Yes, you got it right. I question "slow bleed" Murtha, Pelosi, and the rest of their peer's patriotism. And I question the patriotism of the liberal media. Patriots engage in self sacrificing behavior for the greater good. These liberals focus on the exact opposite. They live myopically to insure their own selfish political gain. Indeed, I question their patriotism. Like the old saying goes, "With patriots like these, who needs enemies?"
